Bangkok Governor Election 2026: Vote tallies have been sent to the Election Commission for certification. The latest unofficial count shows "Mr. Chadchart Sitthiphan" surpassing 1.5 million votes, expected to secure a second term as governor, along with the announcement of the names and votes of 50 prospective Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC) members from all 50 districts.


29 June 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Narong Ruangsri, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and Director of the Bangkok Local Election, revealed that Bangkok has completed collecting and delivering the vote counts for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC) and the Governor of Bangkok from all 6,628 polling stations to the chairman and the committee of the Bangkok Local Election Commission since 28 June 2026. This marks BMA's fulfillment of its legal duties thoroughly, transparently, and orderly.

Next, the Election Commission (EC) will verify the accuracy of the documents and vote counts before officially certifying the election results within the legally mandated timeframe.

Regarding the overall Bangkok governor election, there were 4,428,644 eligible voters, with 2,338,098 casting ballots, representing 52.79 percent turnout. Of these, 2,263,608 ballots were valid, 22,020 were spoiled, and 52,470 voters chose not to select any candidate.

The unofficial vote count for the governor election shows the highest number of votes went to “Mr. Chadchart Sitthiphan,” candidate number 9, who received 1,537,784 votes.

For the Bangkok Metropolitan Council election, there were 4,384,693 eligible voters with 2,306,788 voters participating. The unofficial vote counts for BMC elections across all 50 districts, listing the top-vote recipients, are as follows:
