Bangkok Governor Election 2026: Vote tally results have been submitted to the Election Commission awaiting certification. Unofficially, "Chadchart" has surpassed 1.5 million votes and is set to become governor for a second term, along with the announcement of names and scores of 50 prospective council members for all 50 districts.
29 June 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Narong Ruangsri, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and Director of the Local Election in Bangkok, revealed that Bangkok has completed compiling and delivering the vote counts for the Bangkok Council members and the Governor from all 6,628 polling stations to the Chairman and the Local Election Commission of Bangkok since 28 June 2026. This marks the completion of Bangkok’s legally mandated duties in a transparent and orderly manner.
The Election Commission will now verify the accuracy of the documents and vote counts before officially certifying the election results within the legally prescribed period.
Regarding the overall Bangkok governor election, there were 4,428,644 eligible voters, with 2,338,098 casting ballots, representing a turnout of 52.79 percent. Among these, 2,263,608 were valid ballots, 22,020 were spoiled, and 52,470 ballots did not select any candidate.
Unofficial results for the Bangkok governor election show that the highest vote-getter is candidate number 9, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, with 1,537,784 votes.
For the Bangkok Council election, there were 4,384,693 eligible voters, with 2,306,788 participating, and the unofficial vote counts for the council election across all 50 districts show the top vote-getters as follows:
