Palang Pracharath MP Supports 2027 Budget with Four Proposals to Enhance Quality of Life

A Palang Pracharath Party MP supports the 2027 budget bill, proposing four approaches: upgrading the state welfare card, investing in water infrastructure, and unlocking Agricultural Land Reform Office (ALRO) land restrictions.

On 29 June 2026, Mr. Yutthana Sritabut, MP for Nong Khai from the Palang Pracharath Party, spoke in support of the 2027 fiscal year budget bill, offering four key proposals to ensure the budget addresses people's cost of living issues, increases economic opportunities, and fosters sustainable development. He emphasized that the national budget should not just be a government management tool but also a means to create opportunities, reduce inequality, and improve citizens' quality of life, especially during times of high living costs and stagnant incomes.

First, he proposed enhancing the state welfare card by increasing the budget for the People's Welfare Fund for grassroots economic and social support from the current 42 billion baht to boost purchasing power and ease living expenses.

"Supporting grassroots people is not a burden on the country but the most worthwhile investment, because when citizens have purchasing power, the economy can move forward," he said.

Second, he suggested reallocating the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives' budget toward investing in water infrastructure and implementing measures to reduce farmers' water pumping costs, noting that Thailand has over 149 million rai of agricultural land but only about 22 percent have access to irrigation systems.

"A good budget must invest to ensure farmers have water year-round, because water is income, security, and the future of farming families," he added.

Third, he proposed that the 2027 budget serve as a starting point for land reform by laying the groundwork to upgrade agricultural land titles to Ministry of Interior land deeds, unlocking ALRO land restrictions and enabling farmers to access funding and realize full economic value.

"Land reform should not stop at changing land documents; it must transform land into capital, opening opportunities for farmers to access funding and fully create economic value," he emphasized.

Additionally, he recommended strengthening proactive drug prevention by supporting the establishment of village drug prevention volunteers (V-DPVs) to enhance community-level surveillance alongside enforcement efforts.

At the end of his speech, Mr. Yutthana reiterated that the Palang Pracharath Party is ready to support budgets that maximize public benefit, offering improvement proposals to increase purchasing power, reduce occupational costs, and create sustainable economic opportunities. "The most valuable budget is not one used only to solve problems after they occur but one that prevents problems from arising in the first place."
