Prasert is unfazed by the opposition's plan to debate the Ministry of Education budget, stating he welcomes suggestions from all parties and has instructed Suan Dusit University to promptly address and support 'Teacher Nim'.
On 30 June 2026 at the parliament, Prasert Chantrawongthong, Minister of Education and Secretary-General of the Pheu Thai Party, spoke about preparations for the fiscal year 2027 budget debate, phase 1, saying that the Pheu Thai Party has prepared speakers and information. On 1 July, MP Sutin Klangsaeng, a party-list MP for Pheu Thai, will deliver the summary.
When asked about the opposition's intention to scrutinize the Ministry of Education budget, Prasert said he welcomes it because the ministry has a substantial budget, mostly for personnel. He believes every MP has the right to debate any ministry's budget and is open to hearing opinions from both opposition and government sides regarding the Ministry of Education.
Prasert also addressed the case of Ms. Chanatda Worasarn ('Teacher Nim'), who requested justice from the Ministry of Education after initially ranking first in the assistant physics teacher exam but was later informed by the Secondary Education Service Area Office Samut Prakan that she ranked second. He said the media is likely aware that Suan Dusit University announced erroneous scores and has reissued corrected results showing the previous second place now first and the previous first now second. The university is currently working on remedying the situation and is in discussions for support.
Prasert added that Suan Dusit University must fix the problem because the verification showed discrepancies in the results.
When asked about the timeline for the review, Prasert said no specific deadline has been set but urged swift action since the assistant teacher appointment process is underway. He emphasized the need for urgent resolution.
