Deputy PM Songsak Files Complaint Against Som-Kit-Bang Jack Over Audio Clip Linking to Local Exam Fraud

Deputy Prime Minister Songsak authorized his lawyer to file a complaint against “Som-Kit-Bang Jack” over an audio clip linking them to local exam fraud, citing evidence connecting over 80% of the involved network and accusing the clip of defamation intended to discredit politically.

At 10:00 AM on 30 June 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Songsak Thongsri authorized lawyer Tiwa Karsang to file a complaint with Pol. Col. Yutthasilp Karin, superintendent of Thung Song Hong Police Station, and Pol. Lt. Chairat Thamsiha, investigator there, to press charges against three individuals in the audio clip: “Som-Kit” — Ms. Kandaporn Maneepunyakul (Som), Mr. Pongsakorn Saothon (Kit), and the clip’s broadcaster “Bang Jack.” The charges include criminal defamation by advertising and computer crime violations for spreading false information alleging Songsak’s involvement in corruption in local administrative organization exams.

Tiwa stated that Songsak received the audio clip in August 2025, but at that time his name was not mentioned. He coordinated with related agencies such as the National Anti-Corruption Commission, the Office of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission, the Anti-Money Laundering Office, and others to verify facts about the exam arrangements, suspecting irregularities.

At that time, the exam organization process was underway with public procurement. Two universities submitted bids: Srinakharinwirot University and Surindra Rajabhat University. Although Surindra Rajabhat offered a lower price, the committee deemed Srinakharinwirot University more credible and selected it to conduct the exams. The case was then forwarded to the Comptroller General’s Department for further consideration, which approved Srinakharinwirot University as the organizer.

It was affirmed that this process complied with procurement regulations and was not related to buying positions or exam questions as alleged. Despite the clip’s existence, there was no evidence of bribery or money acceptance at that time, so no legal action could be taken, and no one expected such misconduct would occur.

Later, after the audio clip was posted on the “Bang Jack” page, Songsak’s name was explicitly mentioned, with claims that 1,500 exam quotas were allocated to close associates and candidates had to pay 350,000 baht each to the exam organizers and Songsak, seriously damaging the deputy prime minister’s reputation.

Tiwa added that complaints were filed against Ms. Som and Mr. Kit, alleged owners of the voice in the clip, and the broadcaster “Bang Jack” for criminal defamation under the Penal Code sections 326 and 328 and for computer crime violations for inserting false information into computer systems.

Tiwa also said he believes the audio clip was intended to disrupt the bidding process because certain groups did not benefit, and it aimed to damage Songsak and his political party, although Songsak had no prior acquaintance or involvement with the two individuals.

He emphasized that the complaint seeks police to summon all related parties to testify to clarify why such allegations arose and whether there is any evidence linking Songsak.

Tiwa further stated that if the buying and selling of positions allegations are true, many would be involved—including those soliciting, paying, and taking part in the exams—potentially numbering tens of thousands. Therefore, this issue cannot be ignored and will be pursued thoroughly.

Reports indicate that Ms. Som and Mr. Kit currently reside in the Northeast region and have previously met with the committee investigating these matters. Tiwa believes both will comply if summoned by investigators.

Pol. Col. Yutthasilp Karin, superintendent of Thung Song Hong Police Station, said investigators have accepted the complaint and will assess whether the conduct violates laws before proceeding with legal steps.
