The Prachachon Party is pushing Ms. Patraporn to contest the Bangkok Council President seat, aiming to revolutionize the council toward transparency with automatic data disclosure and plans to use AI to scan the 2027 budget to prevent corruption.
On 30 June 2026 at the Future New Building, Mr. Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn, Deputy Leader of the Prachachon Party, together with Ms. Patraporn Kengrungreungchai, prospective Bangkok Councilor for Bang Sue district, and 22 other party council candidates, held a press conference announcing six urgent agendas to drive Bangkok forward and declared Ms. Patraporn as their candidate for Bangkok Metropolitan Council President to overhaul the system for real accountability.
Mr. Wiroj revealed that the urgent agendas for the first six months to be pushed through ordinances and regulations include: a Safe Construction Site Ordinance requiring disclosure of CCTV footage and insurance contracts to protect citizens; a Building Control Ordinance to unlock old buildings that meet safety standards for public use such as affordable food courts or public parking to ease traffic; amendments to council meeting regulations to enhance transparency by publicly disclosing projects and budgets; formation of a special committee to reform the universal health coverage system coordinating with the central government to address patient referrals from community clinics to large hospitals; a special committee to solve waste problems, especially at the Prawet district landfill, with long-term sorting and landfill systems; and raising budget transparency for 2027 by employing AI to screen projects for corruption and publicly disclose contractor details and project status to prevent job abandonment.
Ms. Patraporn Kengrungreungchai, as the candidate for Bangkok Council President, said the Prachachon Party prioritizes work agendas and is ready to reform the Bangkok Council for maximum efficiency through key policies such as amending regulations to automatically disclose councilors’ voting results, similar to the House of Representatives; live streaming all ordinary and special committee meetings; and publishing attendance statistics of councilors for public scrutiny.
Additionally, they will push for the executive branch to submit budget documents in machine-readable formats and establish an academic and budget office within the Bangkok Council to analyze median prices and contractor histories. They will also form a special committee to audit monopoly contracts valued over 100 million baht, especially waste concession and IT system contracts. They invite all Bangkok Metropolitan Council members from all parties to support these agendas for the highest benefit of Bangkok residents.
