Worasit Reveals Significant Progress in Local Civil Servant Exam Fraud Investigation Khuan Kalong Subdistrict Head Still Unlocated

Worasit revealed that the investigation into fraud in local civil servant exams has made significant progress ahead of tomorrow's deadline. He disclosed that the Khuan Kalong Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) head is still unlocated after rumors surfaced that he fled abroad. Police are intensifying their search efforts.

At 10:10 a.m. on 30 June 2026, at the Parliament building, Worasit Liangprasert, Deputy Minister of Interior, spoke about the progress of the investigation into local exam fraud, noting that the review period set to end on 1 July has seen substantial advancement. He said the investigation has identified behaviors and circumstances indicating where errors occurred, but details on who was involved will be clarified by the committee.

When asked if there was an estimate of how many offenders were involved, Worasit replied that the Ministry of Interior does not delve that deeply, as it oversees matters related only to ministry personnel. Other cases outside this scope are being examined by police and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). Whether the number is large or not is a matter for the NACC to clarify. He cautioned that releasing incomplete facts now could have mixed effects, so it is better for the investigative team to make official statements.

Regarding reports that the Khuan Kalong SAO head in Satun province had fled abroad, Worasit said that as far as he knows, authorities have not yet located him despite police efforts to make contact. About his involvement in the exam fraud, someone has filed a complaint alleging discussions took place regarding the local exams that ultimately did not proceed as agreed. He confirmed that contact with the individual has not yet been established.
