The government has extended the 30% reduction in air travel service fees for domestic flights for two more months, covering July–August, to help ease the pressure of rising fuel costs caused by the Middle East situation.
On 30 June 2026, Ms. Lalida Pertvivatana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, stated that the government led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul continues to support the Thai aviation sector. The ongoing unrest in the Middle East continues to affect energy costs and airline operations. Deputy Minister of Transport Pattharaphong Pataraprasit has instructed the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Limited (AEROTHAI) to extend the air travel service fee reduction measures to alleviate cost burdens and improve liquidity for airline operators.
Ms. Lalida said that on 24 June 2026, the AEROTHAI board approved extending the assistance measures for two more months, July–August 2026. The extension includes a 30% reduction in air travel service fees for domestic flights and an extension of the debt repayment period. Airlines are required to pay 50% of fees as scheduled, with the remaining amount allowed an additional 30-day payment deferral.
Ms. Lalida added that this measure will help reduce cost pressures, especially volatile fuel expenses. Meanwhile, AEROTHAI will enhance air traffic management efficiency to reduce delays, enabling flights to use time and fuel more effectively while maintaining safety standards on all flights.
