Deputy Minister of Interior Meets 270 Local Exam Candidates Scoring Zero to Address Issues and Ensure Fairness

The Deputy Minister of Interior held a meeting with representatives of 270 local exam candidates who scored zero to hear their concerns, seek remedies, and affirm fairness for all parties.

On 30 June 2026, Mr. Worasit Liangprasert, Deputy Minister of Interior, revealed after an online meeting with candidates competing for local government civil service positions who scored zero, that the meeting was organized to give affected candidates a chance to voice facts, doubts, and issues directly. A total of 270 candidates participated.

Mr. Worasit said the meeting heard initial information from candidate representatives, summarizing that 270 affected candidates have grouped together. Most believe the issue arose from errors in shading answer codes or machine reading, resulting in zero scores. They demand a thorough review of the exam and result announcement process to ensure clarity and confidence in the competitive exam system.

However, the meeting aimed to gather facts, identify problems, and collect suggestions from candidates before forwarding all information to relevant committees and agencies. These bodies will consider solutions, including remedies for affected individuals, to ensure maximum fairness to all candidates.

Mr. Worasit affirmed that the Ministry of Interior will proceed at every step under principles of accuracy, transparency, and verifiability, working swiftly to reach a just resolution for all parties.

Regarding progress in investigating complaints of fraud in the local civil service exam, the inquiry is ongoing. If the investigation finds any involved parties, decisive action will be taken. For Ministry officials, both disciplinary and, if criminal offenses are involved, police proceedings will follow. It is affirmed that no wrongdoers will be exempted or aided under any circumstances.
