Train travel becomes more affordable as the government invites the public to use the Thai Chuey Thai Plus scheme at 117 railway stations, supporting travel and tourism to stimulate the domestic economy. The scheme is valid from 1 July to 30 September 2026 GMT+7.
On 1 July 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Ploytale Laksameesangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the government encourages the public to participate in the "Thai Chuey Thai Plus" program by using public rail transport services from the State Railway of Thailand. This aims to reduce travel expenses, promote domestic tourism, and stimulate spending and economic circulation. Train travel under this program is convenient, safe, economical, and environmentally friendly, with discounted fares available from 1 July to 30 September 2026 GMT+7.
"Eligible participants in the 'Thai Chuey Thai Plus' program can pay for tickets on all trains and seating classes, except group tickets, monthly passes, and tour tickets, via the 'Pao Tang' application at 117 participating train stations nationwide. Tickets may only be purchased on the day of travel, with unlimited usage subject to the allocated funding. Discounts can be combined with other State Railway of Thailand fare reductions under specified conditions. Tickets bought under this program are non-refundable in all cases if the passenger decides not to travel."
Ms. Ploytale emphasized that the 'Thai Chuey Thai Plus' program will help reduce travel costs for the public, increase opportunities for domestic travel and tourism, stimulate economic activity and spending across all regions, and promote rail public transport as a primary travel option that is convenient, safe, economical, and environmentally friendly.
