Sihasak Discusses with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Affirms Commitment to Continued Partnership

Sihasak held a telephone discussion with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State to confirm their intention to collaborate and continue the strong alliance that has lasted for many decades.


1 July 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Sihasak Puangketkaew, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with Mr. Christopher Landau, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, at the request of the U.S. side to reaffirm the longstanding alliance and commitment to strengthen their strategic partnership.

The U.S. Deputy Secretary of State expressed condolences on the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Thepyawadi, Krom Luang Rajsarinisiri Patchra, the Princess Royal, and emphasized that the U.S. places great importance on its longstanding alliance with Thailand and reiterated its desire to work together to continue this decades-long partnership. The alliance with Thailand is considered a cornerstone of U.S. relations with Southeast Asia. They also welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister's upcoming visit to the U.S. Pacific Command soon to coordinate security cooperation strategies between Thailand and the U.S.
