Prime Minister to Visit Ayutthaya to Launch 30 Billion Baht Half-Interest Loan to Reduce Farmers Costs

Anutin is preparing to visit Ayutthaya to launch a 30 billion baht half-interest loan scheme aimed at reducing farmers' costs before attending a Narcotics Control Board meeting to push forward comprehensive drug suppression.

On 2 July 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, announced that Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is scheduled to visit the BAAC Customer Marketing Agricultural Cooperative in Bang Ban District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, on 3 July 2026. He will preside over the launch of the “Half-Interest Loan to Reduce Production Costs” project and follow up on the integration of cooperation to elevate the agricultural sector using modern technology and innovation.

The Prime Minister will review the progress of the project, visit exhibition booths, and observe demonstrations of agricultural technology, including the use of drones for farming, drone trials for fertilizing demonstration plots, and various service points showcasing technology applications to enhance production efficiency and elevate Thailand’s agricultural sector.

The spokesperson added that this project is driven by Cabinet resolutions to help farmers access low-interest funding, reduce production costs, and improve occupational efficiency. The program has a total fund of 30 billion baht, with individual loan limits of up to 100,000 baht. The government subsidizes 3% interest, so farmers bear only 3% annual interest, covering seven economic crops. Participants must complete Reskill/Upskill training provided by BAAC and related agencies to enhance knowledge on cost management and effective use of production inputs.

After his duties in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, the Prime Minister will return to Bangkok to chair the 2/2026 meeting of the Narcotics Control Board in the afternoon. He will review progress on intensive, continuous, and integrated drug problem-solving measures to produce tangible results across all areas, including suppression, prevention, and rehabilitation of affected individuals in a comprehensive manner.
