Resolved Amicably! Teacher Nim Accepts Offer to Return Home to Teach Physics, Dusit University Provides 400,000 Baht Compensation

Resolved amicably! “Teacher Nim” accepted the offer to return home to teach physics at her hometown school, happily returning to care for her mother. Meanwhile, Dusit University granted 400,000 baht in compensation, acknowledging a technical error and pledging to review and improve the system.

On 2 July 2026, Mr. Prasert Chantraruangthong, Minister of Education, reported on the progress of the assistant teacher recruitment exam results for 2026 under the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC). There was a discrepancy affecting Ms. Chanatda Worasan, known as “Teacher Nim,” who passed the exam and subsequently petitioned for a review of the examination process. The minister assigned Mr. Akaranat Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education, and Mr. Pichet Pho Phakdi, Secretary-General of OBEC, to handle the matter.

Mr. Prasert said that after discussions among the Ministry of Education, OBEC, Dusit University, and Teacher Nim’s family (including her mother and sister), a resolution was reached. It was confirmed that the review of the second exam results stood. Teacher Nim accepted the offer to become a contract teacher teaching physics at Khao Wong Pittayakarn School in Khao Wong District, Kalasin Province, her alma mater. The school welcomed her immediately to help address the shortage of physics teachers, a critical subject currently lacking personnel.

“The atmosphere and negotiations concluded positively. She is pleased to return to teach at her former school, which gladly accepted her because they currently lack a physics teacher. At the same time, she will be able to care for her mother. Additionally, Dusit University has taken responsibility by providing 400,000 baht in compensation as encouragement, acknowledging the mistake and committing to improve the examination system going forward.”

The Secretary-General of OBEC stated that under the Minister of Education’s directive, they will take utmost care of both teachers and students. He congratulated Teacher Nim’s mother on having her daughter work nearby and encouraged Teacher Nim to be a model teacher, dedicated to educating children, and to succeed in future official teacher recruitment exams.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukhum Chaloeisap of Dusit University said the incident was a technical error in the operational process and confirmed that no fraud was involved. He added that the mistake will be carefully reviewed to prevent recurrence in the future.
