Prit Watjanasin Accuses Justice Minister of Dodging Parliamentary Question Over Senate Election Fraud Case

Prit Watjanasin revealed that the Justice Minister suddenly became unavailable to answer parliament when he learned he had to explain the Senate election fraud case, despite prior coordination by the opposition.

On 2 Jul 2026 GMT+7, Prit Watjanasin, a party-list MP from the Prachachon Party, posted on Facebook about this week's live question session where the government avoided parliament concerning the Senate fraud case. He said the opposition had coordinated early in the week to question the Justice Minister, accommodating the government whip's request. However, the government never informed them if the minister had unavoidable foreign duties or other commitments. Yet, on the morning of the session, upon notification of the question topic—progress on Special Case 24/2568 regarding Senate election fraud—the minister suddenly claimed to be busy with a meeting tracking progress on establishing an international justice learning center project.

Consider this: if the meeting was scheduled well in advance and required the minister's personal attendance, the government would have informed the opposition one or two days prior. Therefore, it can only be concluded that the minister decided to hold this meeting that very morning after seeing the question topic. This explanation is unconvincing and clearly indicates the government is attempting to evade parliamentary scrutiny over the Senate election fraud case.
