
As expected, Budget Committee 70 has appointed Ekniti Nitithanprapas as chair and selected nine vice chairs, with plans to broadcast the deliberations live.
On 2 July 2026 GMT+7, the first meeting of the Special Committee to consider the draft Budget Act for fiscal year 2027 was held. Mr. Wan Muhamad Nor Matha chaired the meeting temporarily to select key positions within the committee. The meeting approved the appointment of Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, as chair of the committee, alongside nine vice chairs.
The nine vice chairs are Mr. Pradorn Prissanantakul, Mr. Anurak Jureemas, Mr. Boonjong Wongtrairat, Ms. Pimpatra Wichaikul, Mrs. Monporn Charoensri, Ms. Jiraporn Sinthupr, Mr. Surachet Praveenwongwut, Air Force Captain Anudit Nakornthap, and Mr. Amphon Pinasah. The four secretaries are Mr. Peeraphat Ratchakitprakan, Mr. Pitchayut Pochit, Mr. Rawee Lekuthai, and Mr. Prasit Notha. The three spokespeople are Mr. Karavee Prissanantakul, Ms. Natthida Thepsutin, and Mr. Natchat Wongprasert. The six advisors include Mr. Wan Muhamad Nor Matha, Mr. Chada Thaiset, Mr. Veera Theeraphatranont, Mr. Boonchu Prasopkitthawon, Second Lieutenant Sarun Samanphan, and Mr. Poramet Jina.
Additionally, the meeting set a structured work schedule, with sessions held Monday to Friday (excluding weekends and public holidays). On Mondays, meetings run from 13:00 to 19:00, Tuesday through Thursday from 09:00 to 19:00, and Fridays from 09:00 to 16:00.
To ensure transparency and enable public participation in budget oversight, the committee resolved to live broadcast all meetings, allowing interested parties to follow the details throughout the review process.
