The Prime Minister views the appointment of Professor Veera Theeraphatranon to the Budget Committee for fiscal year 2570 as part of the Cabinet quota positively, noting that having an experienced and courageous critic helps protect the nation's interests.
On 2 July 2026, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul commented on the House of Representatives' appointment of a special committee to consider the 2570 fiscal year budget bill, which includes Veera Theeraphatranon as a commissioner representing the Cabinet quota. He said he did not need to approve this himself because it is a parliamentary matter; if the House proposes and votes to endorse it, then it must be accepted.
Regarding whether Veera would help clarify the government's budget better, the Prime Minister said that Veera is experienced and appointed through parliamentary procedures. As an executive, he views it positively to have someone knowledgeable and brave enough to speak out and critique, which helps protect national interests.
However, during the parliamentary sessions to consider the 2570 budget bill, he did not have time to follow the meetings as he was performing official duties in France, and the time difference between the two countries made it difficult.
