ONDCP Secretary Meets Prime Minister Ahead of Major Meeting to Strengthen Drug Control Measures

The Secretary-General of the ONDCP visited the Government House to discuss with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul preparations ahead of a large meeting, awaiting orders to enhance strict drug control measures tomorrow.


At 16:10 on 2 July 2026 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya Singhakamon, Secretary-General of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONDCP), said at the Government House after meeting with Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, which lasted over an hour, that today's meeting with the Prime Minister was merely to schedule the meeting on 3 July, when the Prime Minister will emphasize measures with relevant agencies to address drug import and export problems.

When asked if the Prime Minister had urged action on the surge of drugs across the border, Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya said, there will be the 2/2026 meeting of the Narcotics Control Board tomorrow. Today's discussion was only preparatory for that meeting. When pressed about drug smuggling routes to the airport, Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya said, to wait for tomorrow's meeting to see which agencies will be invited. The Prime Minister stresses ensuring all relevant agencies are included and the measures to be presented then. Orders will be announced during tomorrow's meeting. ."
