Poomtham Congratulates on 105th Anniversary of Chinese Communist Party, Strengthening Thailand-China Relations in All Dimensions

Poomtham led Pheu Thai Party members in congratulating the Chinese Communist Party on its 105th anniversary, emphasizing strengthened relations between Thailand and China in all dimensions.

On 2 July 2026, Mr. Poomtham Vejchachai, former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Defense, along with Mr. Jakrapong Sangmanee, Deputy Head of the Pheu Thai Party's Foreign Affairs Division and Pheu Thai Party representative, attended a ceremony to congratulate the Chinese Communist Party on its 105th founding anniversary and the 51st anniversary of the establishment of Thailand-China diplomatic relations.

Mr. Poomtham said that over the past century, the Chinese Communist Party has led the country to rapid development in economics, science, and technology, becoming a significant player on the global stage. Regarding Thailand-China relations, the growth has been founded on respect and trust, reflecting the saying, “Thailand and China are not far apart, but brothers,” very well.

However, amid 21st-century challenges in economics, climate change, and food security, Mr. Poomtham noted the world needs cooperation rather than confrontation. Thailand and China should jointly create new opportunities through the digital economy, infrastructure, and clean energy. The Pheu Thai Party prioritizes strengthening relations with the Chinese Communist Party through party-to-party cooperation mechanisms (Track 2 diplomacy) to concretely support government foreign policy.

Mr. Poomtham added that the cooperation framework will focus on knowledge exchange in future-oriented fields, including technology and innovation emphasizing artificial intelligence (AI) development and data infrastructure, sustainable energy, exchanging policies on clean energy and tourism, social foundations through modern agriculture development, healthcare, education, and human resources.

“The Pheu Thai Party is committed to conducting foreign policy that is balanced, open, and centered on the people's interests. The longstanding Thailand-China friendship will be a crucial foundation for regional economic development and shared security,” Mr. Poomtham concluded, wishing the Chinese Communist Party continued success in leading the country forward.
