On 2 July 2026, Ms. Thiwalrat Angkinan, Member of Parliament for Phetchaburi District 1 from the Bhumjaithai Party and Chair of the House of Representatives Committee on Religion, Arts, and Culture, followed up on the incident in Mukdahan where monks walking a religious pilgrimage along the roadside were hit by a pickup truck, resulting in fatalities and several monks suffering serious injuries.
She assigned Mr. Somsak Boonprachom, Vice Chair of the committee, to travel to Mukdahan Hospital to pay respects to the deceased monks, offer encouragement to those injured, and receive updates from medical staff regarding treatment and urgent support for the injured.
