3 Jul: Duangrit and Phonphum Lead Workers Group to Support Nurse Party for Bangkok Council Chair

On 3 July, Duangrit and Phonphum are set to lead the elected Bangkok councilors' workers' group in a press conference with the People’s Party, backing Nurse Phattharaporn for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council chair.

On 2 July 2026, reporters reported that at 10:00 a.m. on 3 July 2026, the workers' group, led by Mr. Duangrit Benjathikul Chairungreung, former party-list Member of Parliament from the United Thai Nation Party, and Mr. Phonphum Wipatikumprathet, former Bangkok MP from the Pheu Thai Party, will lead the elected Bangkok councilors (BMCs) from the workers' group who won on 28 June 2026 to a press conference at the People’s Party headquarters in the Future Forward Building.

It is expected that the workers' group will jointly support Ms. Phattharaporn Kengrungreungchai, also known as Nurse, the elected BMC for Bang Sue district, to contest the Bangkok Metropolitan Council chair. The People’s Party will hold a press conference to announce a joint agenda to elevate the Bangkok council’s work among its BMCs and other groups, while supporting Ms. Phattharaporn as chair.
