Akkharadej Criticizes Parit for Playing Political Games Over Ministers Avoiding Live Questions

Akkharadej criticized Parit for sulking and playing political games over accusations that ministers avoided answering live questions. He pointed out that live questions are notified just a few hours in advance, making it understandable if ministers have prior commitments. He emphasized that the vote-rigging case involving senators should be allowed to proceed through the justice system.

4 Jul 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Akkharadej Wongpitakroj Member of Parliament (MP) for Ratchaburi, Bhumjaithai Party, gave an interview regarding the case where Mr. Parit Watcharasinthu a party-list MP from the People's Party, criticized ministers for avoiding live question sessions in the House of Representatives, saying the opposition parties should stop using this issue as a political game because, so far, the Cabinet has continuously given importance to answering parliamentary questions, with many ministers regularly providing explanations.

Moreover, the Prime Minister has consistently urged the Cabinet to prioritize answering MPs' questions. Therefore, accusing ministers of avoiding questions is unfair, especially for live questions, which ministers are notified of only a few hours before the morning session, meaning they may sometimes have important official duties that cannot be postponed.

Akkharadej added that regarding the senator vote-rigging case, ministers have publicly explained and answered parliamentary questions on this issue several times. The case is still under the Election Commission's process and with investigators, so it should be allowed to proceed through the justice system. The Minister of Justice has also regularly answered questions in parliament. Thus, occasional unavoidable duties should be understood because live questions differ from regular questions scheduled in advance.

"The opposition should stop using ministers missing live questions to discredit ministers or the government as it is unconstructive politics. Parit, as a young politician, should engage in straightforward politics and not mislead the public into thinking ministers intentionally avoid answering questions when the fact is that live questions have time constraints."
