Anutin admits that Chanathat Patamaphuwadol was once an attendant but his working style did not align with Bhumjaithai. He revealed that Chanathat has not worked with the party since before the 2019 election. If his name is used improperly, the law provides protection.
On 6 July 2026 at 16:20 GMT+7, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was interviewed about the case of Mr. Chanathat Patamaphuwadol, a former staff member involved in attacking journalists and previously charged with theft. When asked if he was aware of the news, Anutin said someone had just whispered it to him but he paid no attention because it was not true. He added that Chanathat had once been an attendant long ago but was ultimately not involved in any work since his working style was incompatible with the Bhumjaithai Party, and he had no involvement since before the 2019 election.
When reporters pressed whether he was close to Chanathat, the Prime Minister immediately replied, "Not at all. I don't even remember his name, but I know him enough to greet when we meet at events. He raises his hand to greet, and I just return the gesture."
Regarding the possibility of his name being falsely used, the Prime Minister stated that if it is misused and causes damage, the law supports action. Those harmed can take legal proceedings against the perpetrators.
