Ruttaphon Says Phawuts Testimony on Forex Case Is in Investigation File, Leaves Charging Decision to DSI

Ruttaphon, Minister of Justice, said he has not received details of Phawut, a People's Party MP, giving testimony to the DSI on the Forex case. He noted the details cannot be disclosed because they are part of the investigation file, and left it to the DSI to decide whether to press charges.

On 7 July 2026 at the Government House, Police Lieutenant General Ruttaphon Naowarat, Minister of Justice, commented on MP Phawut Pongwitthayaphanu, a party-list MP from the People's Party, giving testimony to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) as a witness related to the Forex case. He said the details remain in the investigation file, and the DSI has not yet reported on what Phawut testified.

When asked when the DSI would report, Ruttaphon said the matter must be kept confidential as it is part of the investigation file. Regarding whether more people will be summoned, he said many have already been called in for information, but he does not know all the witnesses involved. He only knows that over 100 victims have come forward to provide information as of last week.

On when charges might be filed, Ruttaphon said the DSI task force will need to meet to summarize the information, as the DSI works as a committee to assess the evidence and its status.
