"Pol. Col. Nui" appeared before parliament to explain the P.Y.P. budget, affirming acceptance of Veera's proposal to dissolve the agency due to overlapping duties.
On 7 July 2026 at the parliament, during the special committee meeting to review the FY 2027 budget bill, chaired by Anurak Jureemas, MP for Roi Et from Bhumjaithai Party and second vice-chairman of the committee, the overall budget under Section 7 of the Prime Minister's Office was examined. Among the agencies closely scrutinized was the Office for the Driving of National Reform, Strategy, and Reconciliation (P.Y.P. Office).
At this meeting, Pol. Col. Watanyu Witayapholothai, known as Pol. Col. Nui and Deputy Director of the P.Y.P. Office, presented to the committee on various topics including budget disbursement progress, the Net Zero policy (targeting zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050), and budget allocation for shifting soft power initiatives toward cultural capital such as Thai textiles and cuisine in alignment with the new government's policies.
Acceptance of the proposal to dissolve the office.
During budget deliberations, committee member Veera Theeraphatranont raised pointed questions and offered recommendations to the agency representative, suggesting consideration be given to "dissolving the P.Y.P. Office." This was based on concerns about operational efficiency and overlapping roles.
Anurak Jureemas, chairing the meeting, stated: "We have heard Professor Veera's question. We will take it under consideration."
Pol. Col. Watanyu Witayapholothai responded: "Acknowledged, thank you."
The P.Y.P. Office confirmed that approximately 41.1% of the budget has been disbursed according to plan, and they will continue to fully implement all assigned projects under government policies, despite some budget reductions. After addressing the inquiries, the chair announced approval of the P.Y.P. budget to proceed to the next agency's review.
