Senate Reports 2-Year Achievements: Passed 32 Bills into Law

The Senate announced its 2-year achievements, having passed 32 bills into law, affirming its role in carefully and transparently reviewing legislation.

On 7 July 2026 at the Riverside Room, the Senate held a press conference titled "2 Years of the Senate: Mission for the People," with Senate President Mongkol Surasajja, First Deputy Senate President General Kriangkrai Srirak, and Second Deputy Senate President Boonsong Noisophon presenting the accomplishments under their responsibilities.

The Senate President reported on presiding over Senate meetings, joint parliamentary sessions, the Senate Special Committee (Senate Whip) meetings, representing Parliament internationally, promoting the Green Parliament initiative, opening access for citizens to Parliament, and fostering political and democratic understanding among youth and the public. He also summarized the legislative achievements over the past two years.

For example, the Senate reviewed 47 bills passed by the House of Representatives, with 32 officially enacted into law.

They approved three royal decrees and considered 54 motions, especially those addressing issues of public interest and directly affecting the country's future.

Additionally, they handled a substantial number of 443 questions posed to scrutinize government activities.

Regarding approval of appointments to independent agencies under the Constitution, the Senate affirmed that these were conducted carefully, transparently, and with an emphasis on ethical principles.

General Kriangkrai Srirak, First Deputy Senate President, spoke about the Senators' public outreach project, noting that over the past two years, they received more than 1,370 complaints. Most issues involved water resources, followed by land and agricultural concerns. He highlighted the cooperation from all relevant sectors—including senators, government agencies, local administrative organizations, the private sector, citizens, and the media—in effectively addressing public hardships to advance the nation steadily, prosperously, and sustainably.
