Chaiyaphum MP from Kla Tham Party Criticizes OBEC Secretary for Failing to Deliver Promised School Building Budget

The school has already demolished its building waiting for a new one. The Chaiyaphum MP from the Kla Tham Party criticized the OBEC Secretary who visited the area and promised the fiscal year 2026 budget to build a new school building but has since gone silent, hinting strongly that the delay might be because the party controlling the Ministry of Education changed, leading to neglect of the public.

On 8 July, Mr. Akkarasanakeeree Lohwira, Chaiyaphum MP for constituency 7 from the Kla Tham Party, discussed at the Ministry of Education and with the Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC). During a visit to Chaiyaphum province on 4 October 2025, the Secretary personally promised parents and guardians of Khon Sawan School students to allocate leftover funds from fiscal year 2026 to build a new school building, as the student population grows annually. With fiscal year 2026 ending soon and fiscal year 2027 already under parliamentary consideration and having passed its first reading, he felt compelled to raise this issue.

"The school has already demolished the old building. When will you allocate the budget to build a new building for Khon Sawan School? Or do you need to wait and see which political party controls the Ministry of Education before releasing the funds? It's unacceptable that when the party overseeing the ministry changes, the budget is withheld. How can our local education sector develop under such conditions? I sincerely hope this will be resolved. Thank you."
