A royal decree has granted special police ranks posthumously to 23 officers who died in the line of duty.
On 8 July 2026, the Royal Gazette website published a Prime Minister's Office announcement regardingthe granting of special police ranks.By royal command, special police ranks are granted posthumously to 23 police officers who died while performing official duties, as follows.
1. Police Sergeant Banjerd Phutthacharoen promoted to Police General.
Effective from 9 October 2024.
2. Police Lieutenant Colonel Suwit Chuaythewarit promoted to Police General.
Effective from 14 January 2025.
3. Police Colonel Prathan Kiewkham promoted to Police General.
Effective from 25 April 2025.
4. Police Captain Amarit Apmaraka promoted to Police Lieutenant General.
Effective from 9 April 2025.
5. Police Lieutenant Colonel Panthep Maniwichirangul promoted to Police Lieutenant General.
Effective from 25 April 2025.
6. Police Sergeant Dome Chuaythewarit promoted to Police Major General.
