Foreign Ministry Reaffirms Thailands Commitment to Ceasefire Agreement, Aims for Peaceful Resolution with Cambodia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Thailand's stance of respecting and strictly adhering to the ceasefire agreement, while completely rejecting Cambodia's allegations. The ministry emphasized its focus on resolving issues peacefully through existing bilateral mechanisms.

On 9 July 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored Thailand's position that the country respects and strictly follows the Joint Statement from the 3rd Special Session of the General Border Committee (GBC) between Thailand and Cambodia, held on 27 December 2025. Specifically, Clause 2 mandates that both sides maintain their current troop deployments in the area without moving forces or patrolling into the other's positions. Thailand's actions are aimed at ensuring security and public safety within the framework of this jointly agreed statement. Thailand therefore completely denies Cambodia's repeated allegations and claims made and disseminated on various platforms regarding this matter.

"Thailand desires peace and is ready to resolve issues through negotiations via bilateral mechanisms based on facts, sincerity, mutual respect, and adherence to agreements by both sides. This approach aims to reduce tensions and rebuild trust between the two countries."
