
Adul is accelerating the border project "Flowing Water, Bright Lights, Good Roads, Signal Available" and has ordered a speed-up in disbursing special combat pay to raise the morale of those who sacrifice.
On 11 July 2026, Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Deputy Minister of Defense, traveled to the border area of Surin Province to inspect and closely monitor the progress of the border security development project. Major General Boonserm Boonbamrung, Commander of the Suranaree Force, along with local commanders, welcomed him and participated in a briefing on the security situation and frontline development plans.
During this visit, Lieutenant General Adul focused on following up on essential infrastructure work needed for the livelihood and operational duties of frontline soldiers under the border area development policy "Flowing Water, Bright Lights, Good Roads, Signal Available." This aims to improve the welfare of personnel and local residents along the border. Well-equipped public utilities will enhance the efficiency of border patrol and national defense to their full potential.
"The government and Ministry of Defense continuously prioritize border area development because national security must advance alongside improving the quality of life for soldiers and citizens. Every servicemember sacrifices to protect sovereignty. Our duty is to ensure they have the best quality of life, including clean water, electricity, roads, and communication systems, so they can perform their duties at full capacity," said the Deputy Minister of Defense.
Additionally, a key concern highlighted by the Deputy Minister was monitoring the benefits for personnel. He strongly instructed responsible agencies to expedite the processing of the special combat pay for those serving in risky areas quickly, accurately, and fully, with zero tolerance for delays or omissions. This is intended to boost morale among the brave soldiers who dedicate their sweat and effort on the frontlines.
Lieutenant General Adul also ordered all local agencies to integrate their work as one unit to swiftly push the infrastructure projects to completion and tangible results. He emphasized that true security means soldiers can perform their duties confidently and border residents enjoy sustainable improved living conditions. This visit aligns with the government's policy to best care for the rights and welfare of those who sacrifice for the nation, deserving the trust of all Thai citizens.
