“Abhisit” Intensively Prepares Democrat Party for No-Confidence Debate on Government and 400 Billion Baht Loan Usage

Abhisit intensively coaches Democrat Party members, assigning parliamentary homework to prepare detailed information for the upcoming no-confidence debate against the government. Meanwhile, Chaiwat declares full support for the 21 MPs to perform their opposition duties vigorously, while Kardi exposes policy-level corruption in the innovation budget.

At 13:30 on 12 July 2026 at Buri Sriphu Hotel in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, Abhisit Vejjajiva, party-list MP and leader of the Democrat Party (DP), said during a Democrat MPs seminar that the afternoon session would focus on discussing the work framework for party MPs in the next parliamentary session. This includes preparing information and key points for the no-confidence debate against the government. The party will use the 'Srong Rat' platform they developed as a key tool to monitor government budget usage, covering both regular expenditures and the 400 billion baht loan authorized under the loan decree.

Meanwhile, Chaiwat Bunnawat, party secretary-general, expressed gratitude to the party’s MPs for their hard work both inside and outside parliament. “We have 21 MPs who are like one family, close-knit, supportive, and respectful of each other. Our role as opposition carries more weight than many other parties. The upcoming battle requires even greater effort because our numbers are small. But for the country’s problems, the people's issues, and the administration’s difficulties, being the voice and working on behalf of the citizens is a clearer goal.”

“Our party’s strategy team has worked hard on many fronts. As secretary-general, I affirm that although our resources are limited, we are fighting with full strength. The party leader has instructed that MPs be well supported and that we give our utmost effort. Therefore, MPs and their teams, if you think I and the executive committee can do anything beneficial for the party and the country, everyone must help. Don’t let the leader bear the burden alone. We are truly one family. Many parties lack this feeling, but Democrat Party is genuinely a family. Please preserve this. I reaffirm we are ready to fight in every way,” said the Democrat Party secretary-general.

Meanwhile, Kardi Liao Phairoj, party-list MP and deputy party leader, spoke about the 'Srong Rat' platform, saying they currently have volunteers helping to develop this AI platform that gathers publicly available data to analyze various projects. So far, it has revealed that government AI projects have overlapping budgets totaling as much as 30 billion baht, with only a few companies awarded contracts by certain ministries. Further investigation shows individuals close to government insiders involved in these projects, enhancing the platform’s ability to categorize and connect data, including which agencies and which party’s ministers oversaw the budgets, how funds were used, and which companies linked to whom received government or ministry contracts. Recently, the innovation account added projects related to solar cell inventions and air filtration, possibly linked to a 200 billion baht loan. Some companies appear incapable of completing these projects but proceeded regardless. This constitutes organized corruption, and Kardi pledged to reveal this information to the public.
