Siripong Visits Injured from Bus Accident on Route 514

Siripong visited those injured in the bus accident on route 514, reaffirming that the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) will provide full care and compensation, while stressing the implementation of the highest safety measures.


On 12 July 2026, Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Minister of Transport, along with Mr. Kittikan Jomduang and Charuworapolkul, Director of the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority, visited those injured in a bus accident involving an air-conditioned bus on route 514 (1-54), vehicle number 2-70172, heading toward Lumphini Park. The accident occurred on Lat Phrao Road near Soi 112 when the accelerator malfunctioned and got stuck, causing the bus to lose control and crash into a roadside tree, injuring 10 people on 11 July. The injured were treated at Lat Phrao and Petchwet Hospitals.


The Deputy Minister of Transport spoke with the injured and their families with concern, assuring them that the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) will take responsibility for all medical expenses and provide full compensation until the injured have fully recovered.


Additionally, he instructed the BMTA to strictly enforce the thorough inspection of all buses and bus depots before service to ensure the highest level of safety for travelers.
