On 12 July 2026, Mr. Nikorn Somkalang, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, expressed his admiration. for Nong Nene Royal, also known as Praew-Rattikan Amloy, a 16-year-old from Phuket who has brought honor to Thailand by singing and playing guitar live to the song "Zombie" on America’s Got Talent, earning four Yes votes from the judges and worldwide acclaim. Her success is not only due to talent but also her determination, discipline, continuous practice, and refusal to give up despite obstacles. Starting as a street musician in Phuket, she has become an internationally recognized young artist, proving that Thais who have dreams and work earnestly can compete and succeed on the world stage.
Mr. Nikorn added that he assigned the Phuket Child and Family Shelter, together with the Phuket Social Development and Human Security Office, to deliver flowers to congratulate Nong Nene Royal and consider awarding her the "Inspiring Youth" plaque on the upcoming National Outstanding Youth Day. This honors youth who contribute to society and serve as good role models. The Ministry, through the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, is driving the policy to "revamp the Children and Youth Council" to be a key mechanism for developing Thai children and youth, enhancing 21st-century skills, and providing opportunities for them to discover their potential, express themselves creatively, and become quality citizens competitive internationally. Like Nong Nene Royal, who has used determination, effort, and continuous self-development to bring fame to Thailand globally and inspire Thai youth.
