Governor Chatchat has ordered district offices to rapidly establish a coordination center for relatives of those affected by the brewery fire in the Lat Phrao area, and is preparing to review the business license and verify whether all fire escape routes are complete.
At 02:40 on 13 Jul 2026, Governor Chatchat Sitthiphan of Bangkok visited the site of the brewery fire in Lat Phrao and told reporters that no names of the deceased have been released yet because identification is pending medical examination. He personally instructed the district office to quickly set up a coordination center to assist relatives of those who visited the popular venue. Regarding the fire cause, forensic officials are investigating urgently and asked for patience. Preliminary findings show many deceased located near the fire escape on the left side of the venue, where obstacles are believed to have been present. It is understood that the fire spread very rapidly along the ceiling; plastic tables and chairs remained, and heavy smoke from decorative materials likely caused many to lose consciousness and crowd near the escape route. Regarding the venue’s license, authorities are working to verify it. The venue reportedly has fire escapes, and officials are checking whether fire exit signs are clear, as well as the presence of any obstacles. Initial reports mention a table selling candy blocking the escape route. There are two fire escape routes, one of which is through the kitchen mainly used by staff, which will be inspected further.
"Initially, a contact center for victims must be set up because many are concerned, especially relatives. Second, the license application process must be reviewed. Third, the completeness and legality of fire escape routes must be confirmed. However, it is understood that the owner is injured and still at the venue," Governor Chatchat said.
