Supamas establishes a facilitation center for relatives of the deceased and injured, declaring that if operators fail to compensate, civil lawsuits will be filed on their behalf immediately due to her authority.
On 13 July 2026, Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and overseer of the Consumer Protection Board (CPB), expressed deep condolences over the fire at the "Rong Beer at Ladprao" entertainment venue, which resulted in numerous deaths and injuries. She stated that the Prime Minister has firmly ordered all relevant agencies to urgently assist those affected, closely care for the injured, facilitate the families of the deceased, and swiftly investigate the facts surrounding this tragic incident.
Ms. Supamas further ordered Mr. Ronarong Phoolpipat, Secretary-General of the CPB, and Mr. Saran Rakpao, Deputy Secretary-General of the CPB, to lead officials in coordinating with the Chatuchak District Office. She assigned Mr. Pradermchai Boonchuayluang, Ministerial Advisor, and Dr. Patcharin Samsiripong, Ministerial Secretary, to monitor the situation and provide continuous updates.
Ms. Supamas added that to expedite assistance, the CPB, together with the Chatuchak District Office, has established a "Complaint Reception and Frontline Assistance Coordination Center" at MRT Phahonyothin station. This center is tasked with receiving complaints, collecting evidence from victims, providing legal advice to relatives of the deceased and injured, and facilitating the exercise of all rights to claim compensation.
The Minister emphasized that patrons of the entertainment venue are considered "consumers" entitled to full safety and legal protection. She ordered the CPB to act as an intermediary between victims and operators to initiate fair mediation for compensation covering medical expenses, property damage, and other losses.
"If investigations confirm that consumers suffered damages and operators refuse responsibility or compensation, the Consumer Protection Committee (CPC) is ready to use its legal authority to take the case to court, pursuing civil claims on behalf of consumers immediately, without any cost to the victims. Criminal cases will be handled by the Phahonyothin Police Station investigators," Ms. Supamas said.
Ms. Supamas also said that the top priority now is caring for the injured and the families of the deceased. The CPB will stand by the victims, fully employing legal mechanisms to protect their rights. If justice is not served, the CPB is ready to fight and proceed with all lawful actions to the fullest extent, refusing to let the matter be swept under the rug. Affected individuals or their relatives can file complaints at the MRT Phahonyothin frontline center or through CPB's main channels: hotline 1166, OCPB Connect application, or website.www.ocpb.go.thand Damrongtham Centers nationwide
