Labor Minister Julapan has ordered the Institute for the Promotion of Safety, Occupational Health and Working Environment (OSHI) to upgrade fire prevention in entertainment venues, tightening fire prevention systems, escape routes, and firefighting equipment to prevent repeated incidents.
On 13 July 2026, Labor Minister Julapan Amornwiwat spoke about the brewery fire in Lat Phrao, saying he has instructed the Institute for the Promotion of Safety, Occupational Health and Working Environment (OSHI) to urgently enhance safety measures by strictly inspecting fire prevention systems, alarm systems, escape routes, electrical and gas systems, and firefighting equipment in entertainment venues, restaurants, and establishments with large numbers of patrons. He also ordered the regular creation and rehearsal of fire evacuation plans to ensure effective emergency response.
OSHI Director Nantachai Panyasurarit said this fire incident highlights the need to control multiple risk factors, including electrical systems, fuel gas, building decoration materials, and fire alarm systems. OSHI will gather data on the event to develop academic recommendations and methods to raise fire prevention standards in entertainment venues and establishments with many users. They will also coordinate with related agencies to push for concrete fire prevention measures to reduce risks and prevent future incidents.
