At 15:40 on 13 July 2026, at the Government Complex, 2nd floor, Building C, Chaeng Watthana Road, reporters observed Mr. Chonnaphat Nakso, Songkhla MP for Constituency 4 of the Kla Party, arriving to meet the special investigation team in case 150/2568 at the Technology and Information Crime Division on the 9th floor. This case involves 27 suspects accused of online gambling and money laundering related to gambling websites, with Mr. Chonnaphat among them. Previously, investigators issued summonses for him to acknowledge initial charges. However, further investigation revealed financial transactions connected overseas. Consequently, the Attorney General assigned the DSI director and special investigators to continue the probe under Criminal Procedure Code Section 20. Additional charges were added: conspiracy to form a gang and involvement in a transnational criminal organization. Because these notifications coincided with the parliamentary session, which ended on 11 July, Mr. Chonnaphat arranged to appear today to acknowledge these additional charges.
For this meeting, Mr. Chonnaphat arrived accompanied by family and his legal team. While waiting for DSI officers from the Technology and Information Crime Division to escort him upstairs, he tried to avoid the media by standing near the 2nd-floor restroom entrance, consistently turning his back. When officers came to escort him near the 2nd-floor elevator, he continued to face away, preventing clear frontal photographs. Currently, Mr. Chonnaphat is undergoing further questioning with DSI officials at the division and has not given any media interviews.
Further reports indicate that after the parliamentary session closed, Mr. Chonnaphat coordinated to meet investigators to acknowledge two charges per the Attorney General's ruling: conspiracy to form a gang and participation in a transnational criminal organization. Following the charges, investigators will conduct additional questioning for him to clarify relevant points and facts. Regarding bail at the investigative stage, since these are additional charges and Mr. Chonnaphat appeared voluntarily with a fixed residence and no flight risk, authorities did not detain him after the additional charges were served today. The investigation team will expedite compiling the case file with legal opinions to submit to the Special Prosecutor's Office for the Attorney General’s review and further directives.
