Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn revealed that this afternoon will see the summary of the first phase of the local recruitment fraud investigation. Meanwhile, the DSI Director-General stated that the DSI is investigating fraud and will examine financial trails if it becomes a special case.
At 07:28 on 14 July 2026 at the Government House, Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt spoke about the upcoming meeting of the committee to examine facts and legal issues regarding the 2025 local civil servant recruitment fraud, session 2/2569, scheduled for this afternoon. The meeting, chaired by the National Police Chief, will include the Secretary-General of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), who will present preliminary findings from the investigation, including any shocking discoveries. These findings will be reported initially to the Prime Minister, with a subsequent report outlining identified gaps.
When asked whether the first batch of findings was shocking, Pakorn said he had not yet seen them. After the meeting, he will update further but cannot disclose details now to avoid compromising the investigation.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Yutthana Praedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), spoke on the progress of investigating the local civil servant recruitment fraud, and whether cooperation with the police is necessary. He said multiple agencies must be involved if it is accepted as a special case. Regarding whether a report will be given to Pakorn on 15 July, the investigation is still in the inquiry stage, separate from the Central Investigation Bureau. The DSI is investigating fraud specifically, and if it becomes a special case, the DSI will also investigate the financial trails.
