Chadchart appoints Niphat Thonglek as chairman of advisors, replacing Jakkapan. Seeing Jakkapan smile, he thought he had accepted the role, confirming there is no problem and that Jakkapan remains a brotherly advisor.
On 13 July 2026, reporters reported that during the 7/2569 meeting of Bangkok agency heads at the Rattanakosin Room, Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha)
Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, informed the agency heads meeting of a change in the chairman of the Governor's advisory board from Jakkapan Phiwngam to General Niphat Thonglek. He explained that he had believed Jakkapan accepted the position and announced it on 9 July, though Jakkapan had actually declined, only smiling without saying anything, so he assumed acceptance.
Chadchart confirmed that Jakkapan remains a brotherly figure who continues to provide advice. General Niphat is already well-acquainted with him, so he was invited to join the work. As for other expert advisor positions, the names are expected to be confirmed today.
