Prime Minister Leads Team in Singing with “Nong Nene” to Support Her on America’s Got Talent Stage, Boosting National Pride

The Government House was lively as the Prime Minister led the team in singing with “Nong Nene Royal” before her electric guitar solo, sending encouragement for her America’s Got Talent performance. The Minister of Tourism invited Thai people to vote to help promote Thai tourism.

At 10:00 a.m. on 14 July 2026, at Building One, Government House, before the Cabinet meeting, Surasak Phanjaroenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, along with executives and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), met Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul to organize a promotional event for the musical performance of Rattikan Amlai, known as Nong Nene Royal, a young Thai artist from Phuket province. She has brought fame to Thailand by competing and showcasing her musical talents on the global stage of America’s Got Talent.

Nong Nene performed the song "Som San" by Sek Loso, with ministers and the Prime Minister standing nearby, clapping along to the rhythm. The Prime Minister handed the microphone to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yotsanan Wongwatsat to join in singing before taking back the microphone to continue singing. He then passed the microphone to other ministers watching, including Labor Minister Julphun Amornwiwat, Education Minister Prasert Chanruangthong, and Social Development and Human Security Minister Nikorn Somkalang, who sang last.

Nong Nene also performed an electric guitar solo for the Prime Minister and the ministers watching, drawing applause from the audience.

She then performed "Zombie" by The Cranberries, the song she used in her America’s Got Talent competition. After the performance, the Prime Minister presented a souvenir, took photos together, and made the rock hand sign. Ministers requested photos with Nong Nene and offered encouragement and best wishes for her success in the contest.

Surasak Phanjaroenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, previously stated that on behalf of the government, they fully support and encourage Nong Nene’s participation in America’s Got Talent, including covering all expenses. He said that Nong Nene and her father have done their best and invited all Thais to vote, which will influence the decision in the next round.

When asked if Nong Nene would have the opportunity to help promote tourism, Surasak said that just by participating in such a major global show and gaining recognition, she is already helping promote Thailand. He added that future plans include having her assist in promoting tourism, the country’s image, and soft power, as she has many talents to showcase.

When asked about reports that Cambodia claimed Nong Nene as their national, Surasak laughed and replied, “I even joked about having her be from Ayutthaya instead. Everyone knows where she is from; she lives in Phuket, which is clear.”
