Election Commission Confirms Using Testimonies of Four Opposition Panelists in Senate Vote-Rigging Case

The Election Commission explained that four participants from the opposition's 2nd anniversary Senate election panel have given witness testimony in the Senate vote-rigging case and confirmed that their information has been used in the case review.

On 14 July 2026 at 13:00, the Election Commission Office released a statement regarding the opposition coalition’s panel discussion titled “2nd Anniversary of Senate Election – In-Depth Evidence of Senate Vote-Rigging.” The event involved former Senate candidates and assistants exposing various fraudulent tactics, including a 50% kickback scheme reducing a promised 200,000 baht to 100,000 baht, coercion to follow prescribed voting lists, and even manipulation plans extending to the next House of Representatives election. The Election Commission stated that the complaint review process regarding the Senate election is underway according to legal procedures. The EC has collected facts, evidence, and relevant information from all parties to ensure a comprehensive, fair, and lawful consideration. The four panelists—Direk Pornsima, Tharin Phanyamai, Sananchai Chuayudomthanikit, and Montree Chieaplaem—have already provided testimony as witnesses in the Senate vote-rigging case. The EC will examine their statements and evidence alongside all other case materials, adhering to facts, law, and fairness for all parties. Once the review is complete, the Election Commission Office will disclose the findings to the public.
