Cabinet Extends Southern Border Emergency Decree for Three More Months from 20 Jul to 19 Oct 2026

The Cabinet resolved to approve the National Security Council's proposal to extend the 85th Southern Border emergency decree for another three months, from 20 July to 19 October 2026.


On 14 July 2026, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the meeting of the Cabinet agreed to extend the declaration of a serious emergency situation. This applies to Narathiwat province except for Yi-ngo, Waeng, and Sukhirin districts; Pattani province except for Yaring, Panare, Mayo, Mai Kaen, Thung Yang Daeng, Kapho, and Maelan districts; and Yala province except for Betong, Yaha, Kabang, and Krong Pinang districts. The extension is for another three months, from 20 July 2026 to 19 October 2026. This marks the 85th extension as proposed by the National Security Council.
