Manat, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima, appeared at the Department of Local Administration, stating he was the person who drafted the TOR and denied involvement in other matters. He requested to withhold statements until he provides information to the Parliamentary Law Committee today, adding that anyone seeking information should ask Rangsiman Rome.
At 08:30 on 15 July 2026 at the Department of Local Administration, Manat Suwanrin, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima, appeared early in the morning. Upon seeing the press, he quickly said, "I am keeping silent for now," before adding that he was there to provide information to the Parliamentary Committee on Law, Justice, and Human Rights at the parliament, and asked the media to follow up and get information from the committee members.
Manat confirmed he was not there today to clarify matters before the Central Committee on the Local Staff Competitive Examination but only to board a vehicle to go to the parliament. He reiterated his wish to remain silent and provide information only to officials, asking the media to present a balanced view. He said his role was solely to draft the TOR and that he was not involved in other activities, and he would explain only the part he was responsible for—the TOR drafting.
When asked to confirm whether the TOR had no loopholes, Manat exclaimed, "Oh, the TOR is more advanced than before," then raised his hand to make a shushing gesture and said, "Oh, I forgot I shouldn't speak." He then emphasized, "I will not provide information; please get it from Rangsiman Rome because there will be much controversy otherwise."
At 10:00, Atthit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry, chaired the Central Committee meeting on the Local Staff Competitive Examination. A key agenda today is expected to be the revocation of 5,000 names of local civil servants appointed, after discovering inconsistencies between answer sheets for parts A and B.
