Only 5 Days Left to Register for Social Security Board Election Urged to Act Before Deadline

The government reminds employers and insured persons to participate in shaping the future of labor welfare. Only five days remain to register to vote in the Social Security Board election before the deadline on 20 July.

On 16 July 2026, Second Lieutenant Phatdarasmi Thongsaluaykorn, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Social Security Board election for employer and insured person representatives will be held on Sunday, 27 September 2026. The Social Security Office has allowed employers and insured persons to register to vote since 1 June. So far, about 1 million people have registered, but many eligible voters have yet to register. Therefore, the Social Security Office has decided to extend the registration deadline from 15 July to 20 July 2026.

Eligible voters include insured persons under Sections 33, 39, and 40, as well as employers in the social security system. Each voter can select up to seven representatives from their own group. The number of insured voters exceeds 11 million, while employers eligible to vote number over 400,000. This extension aims to ensure broader access to voting rights for the public.

Second Lieutenant Phatdarasmi said the Social Security Board election is a crucial opportunity for insured persons and employers to jointly set policies, protect benefits, and manage the social security fund worth more than 2.9 trillion baht. Insured persons can register to vote online through the Social Security Office's website, www.sso.go.th, or via the SSO Plus app, available 24 hours. The system has recently been upgraded for stability to handle high volumes of simultaneous users.
