Prime Minister Anutin signed the appointment of Nirath Pongsitthithaworn as Acting Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, effective from 16 July 2026 until further notice, following the transfer of Theerut to the ministry.
On 16 July 2026, the Ministry of Interior issued an order appointing the Acting Director-General of the Department of Local Administration (DLA). Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul signed Ministry of Interior Order No. 1545/2026 regarding this appointment.
The order states that previously, the Ministry of Interior issued Order No. 1563/2026 dated 23 June 2026, appointing Mr. Theerut Supaviboonpol as Acting Director-General of the Department of Local Administration temporarily from 24 June 2026 onwards until further notice.
However, to ensure appropriate responsibility for the Department of Local Administration's duties, under the authority of Section 61 of the State Administration Act B.E. 2534 (1991), Mr. Nirath Pongsitthithaworn, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, has been appointed as Acting Director-General of the Department of Local Administration.
This order is effective from 16 July 2026 until further notice and was signed on 16 July 2026.
