Lisa Criticizes Delays in Local Official Exam Fraud Case, No Charges Filed After Nearly One Month

The Political Development Committee revealed that in the local official exam fraud case, the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) confirmed that no charges have been filed against anyone except the three individuals already reported in the news. No summons have been issued, despite nearly one month having passed.

On 16 July 2026 at the Parliament Building, Ms. Pakamon Noon-anun, Chairwoman of the Political Development, Mass Communication, and Public Participation Committee, said the committee reviewed the local official exam fraud case following a petition to monitor the issue. Representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Central Investigation Bureau, Srinakharinwirot University (SWU), and the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) were present. After questioning representatives from these four agencies, no progress was found. The Central Investigation Bureau and AMLO confirmed no charges have been filed against anyone except the three suspects reported in the news; no summons have been issued even as witnesses, despite nearly one month passing since the fraud surfaced. Related agencies have not been able to press charges against anyone. AMLO confirmed it has not received any letters requesting cooperation to pursue legal action or to investigate financial flows linked to the exam fraud. As a result, legally no one can be prosecuted due to the delay. The Central Investigation Bureau reiterated no charges have been filed against anyone. Today, the Ministry of Interior only reported the offense basis without identifying individuals or providing information to the police, causing case delays. The committee's review today revealed no results. All agencies unanimously confirmed no charges have been filed nor have any summons been issued, even as witnesses.

Mr. Anusorn Kaewwichean, First Deputy Chairman of the Political Development Committee, added that following arrests on 22 June, the Nonthaburi Governor issued a letter dated 23 June ordering all local government bodies in Nonthaburi Province to report facts to the governor. Some bodies have not responded. In Nonthaburi, seven local administrative organizations under the governor's jurisdiction have submitted confirmation letters. The establishment of fact-finding committees has been slow. As a Member of Parliament for Nonthaburi, he urges those involved to take action to bring clarity to society.
