"Sembae" admits he knows Dr. Win, the suspect in the local examination cheating case, but they are not close and he has never hired him. He confirms that tomorrow (17 Jul 2026), the first batch of over 3,000 corrupt examinees will be sanctioned.
On 16 Jul 2026 at the Military Airport, Wing 6, Nirat Pongsitthathaworn, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry and acting Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, revealed that tomorrow (17 Jul 2026) he will attend a meeting of the Central Committee for Local Government Employee Examinations (KST).
When asked if tomorrow (17 Jul 2026) there will be revocations of civil servants already appointed but who had their exam scores altered to increase them, numbering over 3,000, Nirat said the Prime Minister, also serving as Interior Minister, signed an order and instructed immediate action, so they proceeded without delay.
When asked again if the first batch of over 3,000 civil servants could be revoked immediately, Nirat said that if the investigation confirms clear wrongdoing, they must proceed accordingly.
Regarding a page called STRONG Anti-Corruption Thailand exposing that Deputy Permanent Secretary Sembae is close to Dr. Win, a suspect in the exam cheating case, Nirat insisted he has never studied with Dr. Win but admits to knowing him since Dr. Win knows many people and is sociable. However, Nirat has never hired Dr. Win, nor has Dr. Win sought work from him. Nirat never held a director-general position with budget authority for such hiring requests. He considers such claims exaggerated, stating they only know each other from introductions and company presentations as a normal acquaintance.
