Before Visiting China, Prime Minister Holds Urgent Meeting with Interior, Police, and Commerce Ministries to Order Actions on Local Exam Fraud, Phuket Land Encroachment, and Nominee Shareholding Cases

Images show Prime Minister Anutin urgently summoning the Ministries of Interior, Police, and Commerce, ordering swift action on local exam fraud, Phuket land encroachment, and nominee shareholding crackdowns on foreign capital ahead of his official China visit.

On 16 July 2026, reporters reported that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also the Minister of Interior, called a meeting with Atthasit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry; Wuttikrai Leewiraphan, Permanent Secretary of the Commerce Ministry; and Pol. Gen. Samran Nuamma, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, at the Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House. The meeting aimed to expedite legal proceedings and coordinate agency efforts against offenders in key ongoing cases, including corruption in the local civil service selection exams and encroachment by influential investors and power figures, as well as illegal actions involving the use of Thai nominees holding shares or conducting business on behalf of foreigners, which violate the law.

This meeting took place before the Prime Minister’s official visit to the People’s Republic of China from 16–20 July 2026. The Prime Minister and his delegation had just departed Don Mueang district's 2nd Air Force Wing military airport at 17:30 hours to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport in China.
