Kla Tham Partners with Thammanat Foundation, Ministry of Public Health, and Lawyers Council to Assist Two Families Affected by Fire at Famous Brewery

Kla Tham has joined forces with the Thammanat Foundation, the Ministry of Public Health, and the Lawyers Council to assist two families affected by a fire at a well-known brewery, who are burdened with medical debts exceeding 500,000 baht.

On 17 July 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Thanakrit Jitarirattana, Director of Kla Tham Party’s Complaint Center, together with representatives from the Thammanat Prompha Foundation for Charity, Dr. Ekachai Piansriwatchara, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health, and representatives from the Lawyers Council, jointly announced plans to assist two Thai and Lao families affected by the fire at the Lat Phrao brewery. With the private sector insurance coverage exhausted, the families have accumulated over 500,000 baht in medical debts at private hospitals, an amount beyond their means to repay.

All parties have coordinated to establish urgent assistance in three main areas: first, medical treatment, with the Ministry of Public Health facilitating rights coordination to ease the debt burden; second, relief aid, where Kla Tham’s complaint center and the Thammanat Prompha Foundation will expedite coordination with operators and government agencies to promptly provide initial compensation; and third, legal action, with the Lawyers Council overseeing rights protection and pursuing lawsuits to claim damages fully. Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Thanakrit affirmed that the operators cannot deny responsibility, and the team will promptly follow up on the cases to restore justice equally to all victims.
