The government advises state welfare card registrants who failed the criteria due to "vehicle ownership exceeding the allowed limit" to file an appeal and check their vehicle ownership data free of charge at transport offices nationwide. The government recommends those who registered for the State Welfare Card but were disqualified because they own more vehicles than permitted to appeal and verify their vehicle ownership information for free at transport offices throughout the country.
On 18 July 2026, Ms. Ploytale Laksamee Sangchan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that some citizens were disqualified from receiving the State Welfare Card due to owning vehicles or having sold vehicles without properly registering the change of ownership. There are also cases where individuals only recently discovered they have vehicle ownership because relatives or descendants used their names to purchase vehicles without their knowledge.
Ms. Ploytale stated that Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, along with Mr. Siripong Angkasungkiat, Deputy Minister of Transport, have instructed the Department of Land Transport to expedite assistance and fully facilitate the verification of vehicle ownership information.
Citizens can inquire about their vehicle ownership information for free at provincial transport offices nationwide without any fees for the verification service. This is a continuation of a government project. Those wishing to check ownership can bring their ID card or related documents and walk in at any provincial or branch transport office. The Department of Land Transport can accurately verify information via the central database system (MDM). If discrepancies are found, the department will correct or update the registration records according to regulations.
"The government, through the Department of Land Transport, is ready to facilitate the prompt verification and correction of vehicle registration data to accurately reflect the facts. This will enable citizens to use the corrected information to file appeals and protect their rights. Additionally, the department will collect public issues to present to relevant agencies for consideration of further assistance measures," said the spokesperson.
