The Provincial Waterworks Authority has opened registration to confirm eligibility for water utility subsidies for those approved under the 2026 State Welfare Registration Project starting 20 July 2026.
On 18 July 2026, Mr. Jeset Thaiset, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior (MOI3), stated that the Ministry of Interior prioritizes improving the quality of life for citizens, especially low-income and vulnerable groups, to ensure equal access to basic public utilities in line with government policy. “Ministry of Interior implements Action 5 PLUS immediately.” He added that in accordance with the government's policy to reduce citizens’ living expenses, the Ministry has instructed the Provincial Waterworks Authority to expedite public information about rights, facilitate registration, and closely manage services to ensure no eligible citizen is left out of government assistance. “Water supply is a fundamental public utility essential to life. The government is reducing expenses while enhancing service quality. I have directed all Provincial Waterworks Authority branches to prepare staff, systems, and service channels to provide fast, convenient, and comprehensive access to benefits.” The Ministry of Interior will continue to advance policies related to citizens’ quality of life, urging all affiliated agencies to work proactively, reach out to the public, and fully facilitate access to government benefits because citizens’ hardships cannot wait, and all government-provided rights must truly reach the people.
Mr. Chakrapong Kamjan, Governor of the Provincial Waterworks Authority, said the PWA is reducing water expenses through the 2026 State Welfare Registration Project. The government supports water bills up to 100 baht per household per month to ease living costs. If the bill exceeds 100 baht but is less than or equal to 315 baht, the beneficiary pays only the excess amount. If the bill exceeds 315 baht, the beneficiary covers the full cost. Only one benefit is allowed per household address. All approved beneficiaries, both existing and new, must re-register to confirm their subsidy rights. Existing beneficiaries can register from 20 to 25 July 2026 to receive benefits for the August 2026 billing cycle, with subsidies reflected in the September 2026 water bill.
New beneficiaries can register from 20 July to 25 September 2026 to receive benefits from the October 2026 billing cycle, with subsidies appearing on the November 2026 bill. Retroactive claims are not allowed. Citizens may register online via the PWA website www.pwa.co.th, the PWA Plus Life application, LINE Official Account @PWAThailand, or in person at any PWA branch nationwide. The public is encouraged to verify their eligibility status.
Verification of eligibility can be done through Ministry of Finance designated channels, including the website https://welfare.mof.go.th, the “Paotang” app, the “Tang Rath” app, and designated registration units before confirming water subsidy rights within the specified period to avoid missing out on this key government measure aimed at alleviating living costs and sustainably improving citizens’ quality of life.
