Nattakarn Urges Government to Restore Fairness to Those Stripped of State Welfare Card Rights

"Nattakarn" points out numerous discrepancies from the truth and urges the government to restore fairness to those deprived of their state welfare card rights.


On 18 Jul 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Nattakarn Chuchana, Deputy Spokesperson of the Democrat Party, addressed the Ministry of Finance's announcement of the new list of eligible state welfare card recipients, which led to many former beneficiaries being removed for reasons not aligned with facts. He said he has received complaints from many citizens who lost their eligibility. For example, one citizen owns a Honda Wave 125cc motorcycle, but the government system records it as a 300cc motorcycle. There are also many cases where the system shows debts from personal loans, commercial loans, or loan guarantees that the individuals do not recognize, resulting in their rights being revoked and causing significant anxiety over the reported debts. He therefore calls on the government to urgently verify and review the data of those removed to ensure fair and accurate consideration, alongside proactive communication about the appeal process, which ends by the end of this month.

"This case highlights limitations in the welfare system reliant on eligibility verification, resulting in many genuinely needy people being excluded from aid. I urge the government to promptly correct database inaccuracies and enhance the screening system's effectiveness to ensure state welfare truly reaches those deserving, thereby reducing inequality and promoting genuine economic fairness for the people."
